Paula Dreyer performs, teaches piano, and works as a freelance accompanist in the San Francisco Bay Area.
Paula’s Carnegie Hall debut with Matt Small’s Chamber Ensemble was a huge success and an event that will never be forgotten. They have finished their debut CD entitled “The Royal Collection of Exotic Beasts”. Please see Matt Small for details. This season was exciting, as the group participated in the De Young Museum’s Friday Night Concert Series.
In a different genre, Chus Alonso’s flamenco and latin group Potaje has a new recording called Flamenco Cat .They had a successful CD release party and have received rave reviews in Latin Beat Magazine. Potaje was honored to play at Yoshi’s, one of the world’s most respected jazz venues, in a tribute concert for the Community Music Center .
This has been an exciting year, as it brought some new opportunities such as performing with the Santa Rosa Symphony, and having a beautiful baby girl join her world! An ongoing highlight is being a member of the band for the longest running musical review in theater history- San Francisco’s own Beach Blanket Babylon. Come and check it out on any Wednesday or Sunday to hear Paula play.
Paula has decided to pursue the world of self-publishing for her book “For the Aspiring Pianist…” after having some interesting experiences with publishing companies. You can see some of Paula’s pieces published in the new Taubman book Basic Alignment and Rotation and the class piano book Pianolab.
